Prayer Wall

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. – Hebrews 4:16

October Prayer Requests for Living by Design Ministries

Thank you to everyone who prays for this ministry regularly. We are grateful and profoundly dependent upon your consistent prayers. Although there are many general ministry prayer requests at this time, we feel it is most important to seek prayer support in three specific areas:

Pray for Our Fall Bible Study: Our next free Bible study, "JoyFULL: A Free 3 Week Study of Philippians," will be available on November 2. Pre-registration starts on October 13. We ask our prayer community to cover this study, our promotional efforts, and every participant in prayer. The overwhelming message of this study is: Biblical joy is a gift from God. It is the result of the gospel, produced by the Holy Spirit, and strengthened by studying God’s Word. In this study, we will uncover the biblical secret of abiding joy in any circumstance. We ask for your assistance in waging a spiritual war against anyone or anything that might stand in the way of people accessing or participating in this uplifting and encouraging study.

Pray for Our Ministry Team: Over the next month, our team will be working hard to spread the message of this new Bible study. Please pray for health, peace, and protection over every team member. We also ask for prayer over the technology systems we use to deliver our Bible studies. We have experienced unexplainable technological errors in the past and, as I said above, we need to pray that nothing stands in the way of this message going out far and wide. Pray for our Pastoral Council, Leadership Team, and writing/technical staff as we work tirelessly to get this study into the hands of everyone who wishes to participate. Pray also that the Lord would continue to provide for the financial needs of our ministry in encouraging and unexpected ways.

Pray for Our Community: And finally, please pray for the people in our Bible study community. That they would embrace the message of this study and share it with their friends. That they would find the courage to participate in this study with us and that their lives would be impacted positively and profoundly. Pray that every Bible study e-mail we send gets received by the people who signed up to receive it. And pray that God would work in a mighty way to restore the joy of His people in this difficult season!

I have no relationship with my grown sons. At this point, I would rather be alone than deal with the grief, and I really don't expect anything to change. I just need prayer to have a deeper relationship with the Lord, so that I can be content in my current circumstances.

Please pray that Rick finally gets the help he needs and that God guides his doctor to prescribe the right medications. I ask God to calm his heart and take away all bad thoughts and side effects. Please also pray that Luke's new medication works and that both his and Rick's depression is lifted.

I am feeling overwhelmed, caring for my aging in-laws who live nearby while also being at home all day with a husband working from home and children learning remotely. I don't have any alone time, but I feel guilty about wanting time away from my children's constant needs. We are also under financial strain because we can't afford the major work our house needs. We are blessed to have our health, a loving Christian marriage, and wonderful children, but most days I'm exhausted and feel depleted. Please pray for me.

My husband of 29 years is walking away from me, our 3 daughters, and 3 grandchildren. He has always said he was born again, but this has us all broken. Please ask God to get his attention and to keep my daughters and me in a safe place.

In his book titled Prayer, John Bunyan defines prayer as “A sincere, sensible, affectionate pouring out of the heart or soul to God, through Christ, in the strength and assistance of the Holy Spirit, for such things as God has promised, or according to his word, for the good of the church, with submission in faith to the will of God.” God promises to hear us when we pray (1 Jn. 5:15), and even when we can’t find the right words, Jesus Christ intercedes on our behalf (Rom. 8:34). Our prayers don’t have to be eloquent or elaborate, they just need to be faithful and heartfelt.
