Prayer Wall

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. – Hebrews 4:16

Two people in our family died from Covid19 on March 19, 2020. My stepchildren, whose grandparents they were, are having a hard time with the resulting grief. It's not a "normal" grief. I don't say that lightly; I worked for Hospice Home Care. I'm well acquainted with how grief from losing a loved one to sickness looks. This is more complicated and intense.

Everyone in our family was tested almost as soon as the deaths occurred. Nobody has even the 2 markers that indicate being asymptomatic. Nobody had the markers or the virus. Their grief is so intense because, as the 13-year-old said, "Nobody cares that our grandparents died. They never mention the dead. All they ever do is talk about politics. And it's like they don't want to know that my grandpa liked fishing. They leave if you talk about him that way." I know that feeling really well. Someone I knew died on Sep-11, 2001, but I have no idea how to help my stepson, because I've lived with that reaction from people for almost 19 years. However, I didn't want to tell him that. I was afraid it might cause him to lose hope. The 8-year-old girl is heartbroken. She's a highly sensitive and emotional person. Prayers for our family are appreciated.

June Prayer Requests for Living by Design Ministries

PRAISE for our May Fundraising RESULTS: During the month of May, we ran an emergency fund drive to offset the deficit we were experiencing and sustain our non-profit ministry through the COVID-19 crisis. Join us in praising the Lord for His continued provision for this ministry through the generous donations of our community members. We raised enough funds to bring our 2020 budget back into balance and enable us to continue paying a portion of staff salaries through the summer months. We simply could not continue to provide our high-quality resources free of charge without the generous support of our donors, prayer warriors, and cheerleaders. Thank you for giving so we can continue to give!

PRAISE for Giving by Design Project: During the month of May, we committed to give a minimum of 10% of all the funds we received to Voice of the Martyr's Bible smuggling efforts. Brave men and women from VOM are risking arrest, imprisonment, beatings and even death to get God’s Word into the hands of those who otherwise might never receive it. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we exceeded our goal and were able to donate enough funds to cover the cost of at least 134 Bibles. Praise the Lord! Please join us in praying that these Bibles arrive safely in the hands of persecuted Christians in need.

Article Selection for the Living by Design Blog: We received 26 guest blog submissions during the month of May. Please pray for our team as we review all the submissions and decide what articles to publish on the Living by Design blog this fall. We also ask for clarity, wisdom, and insight as we begin the editing process on the selected articles.

Pray for our Bible Study Participants: We currently have 3,958 people participating in our free online Bible studies. Please pray that the Lord would draw each participant near to His heart as He speaks to them through His Word. Pray that they would receive all the study e-mails, consistently engage in the process of personal Bible study, and experience the freedom and victory that can only be found in Christ.

My brother just got out of prison (again). I have tried to get him to go to church with me and he doesn't want anything to do with God. I have helped him as much as I can, he has lived with all of his siblings and really did them harm in more ways than one. Please pray that God will soften his heart and turn his ways toward God. I love him but I can't make him want to change his life around. I promised my mom before she died that I would look after him. But I can't do much more. God is going to have to be the one to help him.

I’ve been addicted to pornography since I was 11. I’m 30. Deep roots have been sown and habits cemented. I need help and power repenting of this sin and help fighting the spiritual forces of wickedness that surround me. May theses chains be broken in Jesus name!

A sweet genital man I met today said he is going in for surgery on his ankle on june 9th this is his second one on this same ankle. It was going to be Feb 1st but the flu happened. He is hoping that this surgery will amend the problem and he will be able to walk and have the freedom again out side and do stuff with his son. Pray that he will also hear and know that the healing is from the Lord and will have a new and full life the the Lord and that all of his friends will see it and he will be able to say that it was the Lord that healed me.

Another Gentleman is having heart issues and needs surgery.

Please pray for Joanna from Greece, a young woman who was thrown a kind of chemical acid at her face by another woman who hasn't been caught already. Pray for mental and physical healing in the name of Jesus.

Please help me pray for my daughter. She is a kind soul always willing to put her needs aside for those of others. She is very bright and has a promising future. She is involved in extracurricular activities at school, at church and in the community. Regardless of all this she struggles to make real friends. She has been betrayed so many times that she fears making friends now. This quarantine has been very difficult on her because she is feeling even more isolated. She is supposed to be going off to university next fall and I worry how she will cope all alone away from us. Please pray she become more discerning in her choice of friends and that the Lord guide her. Thank you.

In his book titled Prayer, John Bunyan defines prayer as “A sincere, sensible, affectionate pouring out of the heart or soul to God, through Christ, in the strength and assistance of the Holy Spirit, for such things as God has promised, or according to his word, for the good of the church, with submission in faith to the will of God.” God promises to hear us when we pray (1 Jn. 5:15), and even when we can’t find the right words, Jesus Christ intercedes on our behalf (Rom. 8:34). Our prayers don’t have to be eloquent or elaborate, they just need to be faithful and heartfelt.
