Prayer Wall

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. – Hebrews 4:16

I am at a crossroads in my life and not sure what to do. I feel frozen, but SO want to be used by God. I know what HE is calling me to do, but I can't shake the fear. It has been a hard couple years for our family with health issues, financial issues and spiritual battles. My hearts desire is to do the will of God in this life so that His love can change as many people as possible and bring them to salvation. My prayer request is that I can Let Things Go and Let Him take control, and that I will be brave enough to step out in Faith Knowing that He truly has got this. Thank you.

Please pray that God would bring me a good, godly friend. I feel very lonely and my sisters are too far away or too busy. I would like her to be of my same age and to love the Lord with all her heart, soul and mind.

I am living in fear. I live with my grandparents, and they are separating. Because I am closer to my grandmother, and I imagine that my mother and I will eventually be caregivers for her, I am presumably moving with her. In doing this, I might have to leave a job working with kids that I love. This one, in particular, is very hard. I feel like God has called me to work with children, and leaving this particular job would be hard. Prayers for trust and peace would be so appreciated.

Please pray for me, My second marriage is dissolved. This is not something I want. I want to honor my vows to my husband and to God. My husband doesn't want to work on the marriage or go to counseling, Our finances are now in trouble and it is taking every ounce of me to stay strong. I'm to the point that I really don't want to get out of bed. I'm embarrassed and angry at all of this. I have been praying for us and for his heart to change and for us to work together. For him to see me as God sees me and for me to see him through Christ's eyes. Thank you.

In ICU, stent put in heart, still having problems. Prayers, please!

UPDATE: I want to thank all for praying and explain how awesome and strong prayers for others truly is. April 2016, I had all heart tests done and was called on Friday and told I was fine. The following Monday I was in the Hospital Emergency Room begging for a heart cath. I was turned down by three cardiologists as my tests were fine. Finally after continually begging and help from a nurse a heart cath was done - I had a blood clot in the heart’s main artery. A stent was put in.

This happened again this week, one week after heart tests. One hospital kept me overnight and insisted I had GERD. 7 or 10 days later I could no longer take the pain and shortness of breath and went to a different hospital. I was taken to the heart cath lab and the cardiologist opened the stent from 2016 as it had closed at both ends. He then put a longer stent through the old stent. If it were not for Faith in God and prayers my story may have ended differently as a heart attack in the main artery is called the Widow Maker. We celebrated our 53rd Anniversary that same day.

I am soon to be 72. I cannot stress enough good health for all nor thank all enough for caring and praying.

February Prayer Requests for Living by Design Ministries

DWELL360 Study & Participants: Nearly two-thousand members of our free Bible study community have committed to participate in our DWELL360 study this year. There is nothing more worthwhile than carving out time to daily dwell on God's Word, and we are asking our prayer community to cover our DWELL360 Study participants in consistent prayer. Pray that study e-mails land in inboxes and are seen (and opened) by all, pray that each participant maintains their commitment to daily Bible study throughout the year, and pray for spiritual growth and freedom to be experienced by all. Praise Report: Sarah Koontz has finished drafting the full study and it is currently being reviewed by our pastoral council.

Clear Direction for 2020: Please pray for our board of directors and leadership team as we enter a new year of ministry together. We are seeking the Lord for wisdom in several areas of ministry and are trusting Him to continue to guide and direct us for His glory. Pray that every member of our team would be refreshed, renewed, and revitalized as we continue to work together in 2020.

Guest Submissions: We will be inviting guest writers to submit articles for consideration from February 1-15. We will then be reading through the articles and prayerfully considering which ones to publish on the Living by Design blog. Please ask God to help our team spread the word about this opportunity and lead the right people to write and submit articles. God is the only One who intimately knows the needs of our readers, and we are asking Him to guide and direct this process.

Upcoming Projects: Sarah Koontz is working with a few talented creative partners to revitalize and update our Psalm 119 study for a re-release in 2020. We will be reformatting the study, adding new digital gifts, a going deeper guide, and an audio version to this study. Our Psalm 119 study has already reached more than 6,500 readers and we are hoping this update will encourage many more to study this beautiful passage of Scripture. Sarah is also beginning the research phase of a study of Philippians set to release during the second half of this year. Pray for wisdom, health, direction, and endurance for our whole team!

In his book titled Prayer, John Bunyan defines prayer as “A sincere, sensible, affectionate pouring out of the heart or soul to God, through Christ, in the strength and assistance of the Holy Spirit, for such things as God has promised, or according to his word, for the good of the church, with submission in faith to the will of God.” God promises to hear us when we pray (1 Jn. 5:15), and even when we can’t find the right words, Jesus Christ intercedes on our behalf (Rom. 8:34). Our prayers don’t have to be eloquent or elaborate, they just need to be faithful and heartfelt.
