Today, our ministry is participating in #GivingTuesday for the third year in a row. Will you join us?

Giving Tuesday is a day dedicated to generosity and giving. It occurs the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday.

It’s a day to acknowledge the power of giving, volunteerism, and simple acts of kindness.

There is no shortage of ways to get involved in this global day of giving, and we appreciate your willingness to consider investing your resources in our free Bible study ministry.

This year’s #GivingTuesday theme is “Together We Give.”

I love this theme because it truly sums up what we do here at Living by Design Ministries.

When God gave us a vision for this free Bible study ministry, He clearly directed us toward a community-supported ministry model.

Without your prayers, your shares, and your donations—our ministry model doesn’t work.

And that is exactly as it should be!

God’s people, working together, to accomplish God’s purposes here on earth.

Your partnership with Living by Design Ministries enables us to help women, like Denise, grow in their relationship with God during difficult seasons.

Denise's Story: Building Community in a Season of Social Distancing

My husband, Westley, and I spent most of our missionary life in La Mosquitia, a remote part of Honduras. He provided emergency flights with a Cessna 206. We also used the plane to carry supplies after disasters, transport others to fulfill medical/dental missions, help build pure water drinking systems, carry construction teams/supplies to work on infrastructure, and showed the Jesus film in remote areas. We brought in multiple teams to assist and we hosted these teams in our home. During our last few years in Honduras, we administered a small medical clinic that touched the lives of more than 15,000 people.

We saw much fruit from our 21 years of service in the mission field, but we felt God’s leading to return to the United States in 2019. Adjusting to life in North Carolina has been a struggle, and our life doesn’t look like we envisioned. This is a new season for us—a season full of unexpected change and unforeseen challenges.

The COVID-19 crisis has further complicated our lives. I have decreased lung capacity, so we have to be very careful. We weren’t able to find a new church home before the lockdowns, so the Bible studies from Living by Design Ministries have been a huge blessing.  I look forward to opening my e-mail each day and enjoy the way these Bible studies illuminate God’s Word in a fresh new way for me.

Not only have the Living by Design studies helped me grow spiritually, but they have also helped me build community in this season of social distancing. It is so encouraging when others decide to join me for a study so we can discuss the study highlights and share the things that touched all our hearts. These online Bible studies are a great tool to help bring people together from all over, and they are so easy to share with friends and family.

Even in the midst of a pandemic, we all need to continue to strive to be more Christ-like by knowing Him through His Word. Like many around the world, our family is on a very tight budget right now. I don’t believe that I would have been able to participate in these studies if they were not free. Thank you for being a source of encouragement and hope for me in this difficult season. Your Bible studies challenge me to grow and equip me to help others grow too! -Denise from North Carolina

Together We Give: Free Bible Studies

Thanks to the faithful generosity of our donors, our studies are available at no cost to anyone, anywhere, anytime. Since 2017, we’ve delivered more than 43,045 free Bible studies to women like Denise.

Over the past several years, God has clarified His purpose for this ministry in my heart. He has shown me the one thing we are all about.

Our mission can be summed up in two words: Bible Literacy.

Everything we do at Living by Design is motivated by our desire to build a bridge between God’s people and God’s Word.

Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. – John 8:32

There is freedom to be found in the truth-filled pages of our Bibles.

Yet they often remain on our shelves collecting dust while we try to tackle life’s problems in our own strength.

I don’t say this to condemn, just to inform.

This is a spiritual battle. The enemy doesn’t want us to know the truth, nor does he want us to experience freedom. His most effective strategy is to keep us busy, distracted, and disconnected from God’s Word.

Together We Give: What Do You Have to Give?

Now, more than ever, the body of Christ needs to fortify itself and seek to function biblically in a world that’s gone topsy-turvy.

Every Christian is uniquely equipped to help build up and strengthen the universal church, and everyone has a part to play in the work of Christ upon the earth.

Including you!

As believers, we have access to enduring hope, unsurpassable peace, and unshakeable joy in every circumstance.

Therefore, we must do everything in our power to share what we have with the world!

This free Bible study ministry, like every other Christian ministry on earth, is a community effort.

Everything we do, everything we are, is dependent upon the body of Christ functioning in a biblical manner.

In Romans 12:3-8, Paul wrote, “For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.”

Whatever we have to give, we must give it fully, as unto the Lord. And when we freely share our gifts with one another, miracles happen!
