Guest Contributor Opportunities

I will never forget the first time a successful blogger and New York Times Bestselling author took the time to personally respond to my e-mail offering to guest blog on her website. Even when my original submission missed the mark, she took time to give me thoughtful feedback and encouraged me to try again. She ended up running my third re-write of the article on her wildly successful blog and invited me to write another a few months later.

The day that the second article ran, I decided that I would always do my best to treat other bloggers and aspiring authors in the same way she treated me—with respect. Because I would much rather dedicate my life to working alongside others than achieve anything on my own.

For this reason, our ministry team is deeply committed to supporting writers and bloggers in the Christian community. Whether you are wildly successful or just getting started, the only thing that matters is that we share the same deep commitment to rightly dividing the Word of Truth.

Our guest blog submission window at Living by Design Ministries will be open from June 1-15. Don’t miss this opportunity to have your writing featured on our platform. Accepted articles will be featured on our platform between August and December.

Living by Design Ministries

Guest Writer Submission Guidelines

Living by Design Ministries exists to serve the local church, leaders, organizations, and individuals by inspiring and equipping Christians to explore God’s design, establish godly lives, and exude God’s love.

We believe that God’s Word is the only source of absolute truth in a world that praises tolerance and ambiguity. Therefore, we exist to create biblical resources that help Christian women:

1. KNOW THE TRUTH: Our free Bible study resources equip and inspire Christian women to diligently study and faithfully apply biblical truth to their lives.

2. BE TRANSFORMED BY THE TRUTH: Our free Bible study resources build a bridge between professing Christians and the life-changing power of God’s Word.

3. SHARE THE TRUTH IN LOVE: Our free Bible study resources help Christian women grow in maturity and equip them to lovingly share their faith with others.

It is our dream for women to embrace God’s design for their lives and experience God’s faithful provision as they learn how to glorify Him with their time, talents, and treasures. We seek to transform disciples into disciple-makers by creating discipleship tools for the digital age.

The Living by Design Blog has around 20,000 visitors each month, and our e-mail list reaches 19,500 readers weekly. Guest posting is a fantastic opportunity to improve your writing skills, share your story with a new audience, and improve your website’s SEO.

We only accept original pieces that haven’t appeared anywhere else (including your personal blog). Unpublished writers and non-bloggers are also welcome to submit an article for consideration.

The ideal length to be featured on our blog is 1000-1200 words. Here is a sample Guest Blog for your reference. The closer you can get your submission to our final format the more likely you are to be selected. If you choose to submit more than one article, please complete a new form submission for each article.

All posts need to fall in line with our mission statement: Inspiring Christians to EXPLORE the beauty of God’s design, ESTABLISH godly lives, and EXUDE God’s love.

Guest blogs may be refused without reason. The best way to assure approval is to follow the guidelines, post on a topic that is not yet covered on our blog (or offer a unique perspective), start your post with a personal story that ties into your key message and teaching, including lists, and make sure your article is biblically sound and grammatically correct.

We reserve the right to edit any guest blog for SEO, grammar, and style, but your post should be free of grammatical, punctuation, and spelling errors.

Once published, your guest blog becomes the exclusive property of Living by Design for at least six months. After six months, you can alter the post and republish it on your own website with significant changes, your own title, and your own images.

If  Living by Design Ministries is made aware of any written content or social media posts by the guest contributor that is not in alignment with our Statement of Faith or Community Guidelines, we reserve the right to pull your article immediately and without notice.

If you have any questions, please send us an e-mail. Thank you again for your interest in writing for Living by Design Ministries. We look forward to reading your submission.

Clean, easy-to-understand writing and a compelling storyline is the secret to getting your guest blog accepted. We are looking for original, practical, real-world examples that inspire women to draw near to God. Be sure to include actionable, biblical advice that our readers can put to use in their own lives. Make sure your submission has a clear introduction to capture the reader’s attention, a helpful body including Scripture references and lists, and a motivating close to wrap-up the article and encourage the reader to take action.

Additional Quality Guidelines:

  • Your guest blog should be at least 800 words in length. 1000-1200 words is preferred.
  • If quoting a verse from the Bible, please include the translation from which you are quoting. We prefer HCSB, but also accept NIV, NLT, NASB, and KJV.
  • Affiliate links are not allowed.
  • If you have products of your own that you would like to promote (perhaps an Etsy store, or your own eBook, for example) just let us know. We are 100% happy to help you to promote your products in a natural, reader-focused way.
  • Please proof-read your own posts at least twice before sending. Posts should be free of spelling and grammatical errors.
  • Use bullets or numbers in lists to break up the content.
  • Keep paragraphs short. One to three sentences is the ideal length for a paragraph, four would be an absolute maximum and is usually too long.

At Living by Design Ministries, we do not accept articles containing any AI-generated content that lacks proper attribution. Our editorial team employs tools to assess the likelihood of submissions being AI-generated, which may lead to rejection.

We categorize content into two types regarding AI involvement: AI-generated and AI-assisted. These categories are defined as follows, in line with Amazon Kindle’s author policy:

  • AI-generated: This refers to any text, images, or code produced by an AI tool. If you utilized an AI-based tool to create the actual content—regardless of the amount of editing you performed—it is classified as “AI-generated.”

  • AI-assisted: This applies when you create the content yourself while using AI tools for editing, refining, error-checking, or enhancement. If you leveraged AI tools for brainstorming and idea generation but ultimately produced the final content on your own, this is categorized as “AI-assisted” rather than “AI-generated.”

Authors are welcome to use AI in a manner similar to how they would utilize search engines like Google, Bing, or DuckDuckGo. However, articles must be written in the author’s own words. Any AI-generated content must be properly attributed, just as if it were sourced from another book or website.

The use of AI for grammar and spelling assistance is outside the scope of this policy. Tools like Grammarly, Wordtune, and similar features in word processing software do not rely on others’ work as sources, so their use is fully permitted.

We regularly employ AI-assisted technology to edit documents, verify content accuracy, check for plagiarism, and identify AI-generated text, ensuring that all submissions meet our high-quality standards.

And yes, we used AI to generate this new policy in less than 5 minutes!
