God is Sufficient

I will never find satisfaction in this life as long as I look to other people to meet the needs I feel screaming for attention within my soul.  Only when I look heavenward will I find the loving care I desire above all else.

People will always leave me wanting more.  Even when they have given their best, I will always find a way they could have cared for me better.

If I continue to view the world through this grid, I will never cease to be disappointed in those I love.

This, my child is a lesson you must learn.

I created ou to find yourself complete, only when you are MINE heart and soul.

That emptiness you feel burning within your soul will burn until the day you look to heaven alone for satisfaction!

I have loved you from the moment that I destined you to be Mine.

Oh, how I long for you to be completely Mine.

Each day I set out to show you the many ways I love you, don’t you see that?

Everything you touch was created so that you could know Me and the depth of My love for you.

Your heart longs for someone who knows you completely & loves you with an everlasting love.

Can’t you see that I alone am capable of making your wildest dreams come true.

I can give you the peace that you long for, but you must give yourself to me wholly and completely.

We will never find satisfaction in this life as long as we look to other people to meet our needs. God alone is Sufficient!

My child, I long to deliver you from the pain and frustration you feel with this life – but can’t you see that your decisions limit me?

Come to me, my child, and I will teach you how to live.

I will instruct you in the way you should go – for I am gentle and humble in spirit.

Come to me, my child, and you will never thirst again for the things of this world.

I am sufficient.

Look heavenward – for it is there that you will find exactly what your heart is longing for.

No one else can satisfy you the way I can, for I created you.

I know you, I can see the motives of your heart & you do not need to prove yourself to me.

I see who you are and I love you for it.

I created you for such a time as this, learn from me & I will show you how you are to live.

Let me direct your life, let me take the burdens of this day which lay heavily upon your heart.

Be still my child & I will fight this battle for you.

You can finally rest, you can finally stop worrying about what others think of you.

You can finally stop pushing yourself to achieve things under the sun & begin doing My will.

My will is that you love me completely and share my love with everyone you meet.

So sleep sweetly my child, for tomorrow will bring a joy you never before thought possible.

I love you with all that I am.

-God

{Adapted from a personal journal entry dated January 19, 2004.  Exactly 4 days before my husband and I went on our first date.}

We will never find satisfaction in this life as long as we look to other people to meet our needs. God alone is Sufficient!

My husband and I dated for a very short time before we got engaged and chose to get married.  As I look back on that season of my life, I remember how important this particular journal entry was for me.

I had always been looking outward to get my needs met, and I was chronically disappointed in the people who were in my life.

But this journal entry was a turning point for me.  I don’t know if each and every statement above is Biblically accurate as I haven’t taken the time to pull it apart.

But I do know that this was the message God put on my heart as I sat alone in my childhood bedroom scratching in my personal journal that night.

It left me forever changed, and I pray that it will do the same for you.

He is sufficient.  He is tender.  He is forgiving.  And He is generous.

Trust Him with your life, and beauty will ensue!
