I was tickled pink when my blogging friend, Mary Hill, invited me to participate in her series “31 Christian Bloggers who Inspire Me to Walk Closer with Christ.”
It was fun to share a few pieces of my personal story that I haven’t yet had the opportunity to blog about, including my testimony and favorite Scripture verse.
Our interview inspired me to pull the curtain back and share even more of my quirky self with you today in this blog post.
You see, blogging requires that we share our stories without making it all about ourselves.
It demands a fine balance between transparency and making certain that every word serves a purpose and meets a need in our readers’ lives.
Blogging requires that we share our stories without making it all about ourselves. Click to TweetI tend to veer away from sharing too many details about my life, not because I have something to hide, but rather because I don’t ever want my blog to feel like “it’s all about me.”
All of that said, it is fun to step out of the norm and share a bit of my real life with you.
I’ve included a few snippets from my interview with Mary, along with some fun random facts about myself.
I’ve also included a fun “get to know” you question at the end, along with a call for you to submit any burning questions you have about me. Enjoy!
I live on 13-acres in South Dakota with my husband, two daughters and a rowdy flock of 30 chickens.
We live a simple, uncluttered life –and I revel in the peace and quiet country living provides.
I love spending my days crafting words and digging into my soul to find the perfect message to bring hope to my readers.
I am in the process of drafting my first book proposal and enjoy building my platform, honing my craft, and networking within the writing and publishing community.
My constant prayer is that my only passion be for Christ.
To make Him known.
To honor Him with each moment of my day.
To learn to do what He wants me to do, without being distracted by my own desires.
I am not sure where this writing journey will take me, but I will continue to pray that God gives me words that are filled with hope and faith to share with my readers.
And emboldens me to share my story without fear of what others may think of me, in hopes that my story will inspire others to embrace their own!
Because where there is real fruit, you will always find seed in it for more fruit.
Where there is real fruit, you will always find seed in it for more fruit. Click to TweetI don’t want anyone to remain stuck simply because they have no one in their life urging them to dig into God’s word and find a way forward.
I have always had loving Christian mentors –people who had gone before me and were willing to retrace their steps and walk alongside me.
Understanding God’s beautiful design for my life has brought so much freedom and joy to my life, and I simply must share it with others.
I want to be that friend urging you forward, pointing to God’s word and walking the curvy paths alongside you.
